ETS 2 Coaches Release Date: When Is the Coaches DLC Coming Out?
Short answer: there is no release date yet. As of October 29, 2026, the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Coaches DLC is listed on Steam as “To be announced”, and SCS Software has not given a month, a season or a year. We will update this page as soon as that changes.
That does not mean nothing is happening. SCS has published a steady stream of Coaches updates since mid-2025, and the project has moved from early screenshots to two full gameplay videos. Here is where things stand.
How far along is it?
The development timeline so far:
| Date | Milestone |
|---|---|
| June 2025 | Project Coaches announced, Steam page goes live |
| July 2025 | Team introduced |
| Sept 2025 | Bus station rework and the Scania Touring |
| Nov 2025 | Passenger satisfaction explained |
| Dec 2025 | MAN Lion’s Coach revealed |
| Feb 2026 | Volvo 9700 Double Decker confirmed |
| Apr 2026 | Stations in map expansions |
| July 2026 | First gameplay video and new vehicle features |
| Aug 2026 | Coach ownership and Contract Jobs |
| Sept 2026 | Mode Switch for Truck, Car and Coach modes |
| Oct 2026 | Tourist Jobs and a second gameplay video |
The core pieces are in place and shown working: three licensed coaches, passengers with individual moods, three job types, ownership and the mode system. Producer Dominik said in January that the team wants to get Coaches to players “as soon as possible” and does not want the project to drag on for years, which is why some ideas are being kept for updates after launch.
Why no date yet?
SCS rarely gives dates far in advance. It usually announces a release date together with a trailer shortly before launch, as it did this month for the Iceland map expansion.
Our own guess is that the timing also depends on the shared groundwork. Mode Switch, the fatigue changes and the free bus station rework all touch the base game, not just the DLC. The two gameplay videos suggest Coaches is well past the experimental stage, but until SCS says otherwise, any specific date you see online is speculation.
Price and platforms
SCS has not announced a price. The Steam page lists Windows, macOS and Linux, the same as the base game. Coaches is sold as a DLC, so you need Euro Truck Simulator 2 to play it.
Common questions
Is there an official ETS 2 Coaches release date?
No. The Steam page says “To be announced” and SCS has not given a date.
Will I get the new bus stations without the DLC?
Yes. SCS has confirmed that changes to the base map and map DLCs are free for everyone who owns them, whether or not you buy Coaches.
Which coaches will be in it?
The Scania Touring, MAN Lion’s Coach and Volvo 9700 Double Decker are confirmed. See our full list of ETS 2 coaches.
Is Coaches coming to American Truck Simulator?
Not announced. ATS is getting Road Trip, which adds cars, and shares the Mode Switch system with ETS 2.
How do I get notified?
Add the DLC to your Steam wishlist and Steam will tell you when it launches.
