Simuway covers simulation games: truck, bus and farming simulators, flight and racing sims, and the driving and building games around them. This page explains how our news is put together, so you can judge how far to trust it.

Who writes

News is written and edited by H. Ofke, Simuway’s editor. Posts that carry a named byline link to the author’s page, which lists everything they have written for us. Older posts from the site’s first years are credited to the Simuway desk.

Where the news comes from

Most of our stories start from a primary source:

  • developer blogs and official websites (for example SCS Software’s blog or GIANTS Software’s announcements),
  • Steam store pages, Steam news posts and patch notes,
  • official livestreams, trailers and social media accounts of the studios.

Every article links to the source it is based on. When we write about a version number or a release date, we check it against the developer’s own post, not a repost. The game version tracker reads Steam’s news feed directly for the same reason.

Confirmed, expected and rumoured

We keep three things apart:

  • Confirmed details are those a developer or publisher has stated or shown.
  • Expected details follow from what has been shown (a car seen in a screenshot, a feature listed in a beta) but are not final. We say so in the text.
  • Rumours and community findings (data-mined files, leaks, forum posts) are reported only when they are widely discussed, and are always labelled as unconfirmed.

Release dates stay “to be announced” until the studio gives one.

Mods and community content

When we write about a mod, we name its creator and link to the original download page. We do not re-host mod files.

Images and video

Screenshots and trailers in news posts come from the developers’ press material, Steam pages or official channels, and belong to their owners. Where we use our own screenshots, they are taken in the released game or a public beta.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Factual corrections are made in the article itself and the “updated” date changes. Larger changes, such as a wrong release date or a feature that turned out not to exist, are noted in the text. To report an error, write to contact@simuway.com with the article link.

Independence and advertising

Simuway is not owned by SCS Software, GIANTS Software, Microsoft, Laminar Research, Saber Interactive or the other publishers whose games fill most of our pages, and the games named on this site are trademarks of their owners. The site is paid for by advertising shown through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose or review our articles, and ads are shown in marked slots apart from the text.

If an article is ever sponsored, or is based on a game key or review copy given to us, the article says so at the top.
