ATS Road Trip Ford DLC: Every Car, Price and What You Get

Road Trip: Ford is the first car DLC for American Truck Simulator. It came out on September 29, 2026, costs $7.99 on Steam and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It contains four Ford vehicles and, more importantly, unlocks Car Mode and the Atlas exploration feature.

This page lists every car in the pack with what SCS Software told us about it during development, then explains what else you get for the money.

The Steam store and SCS’s blogs do not always name the cars the same way. Steam uses model years, while the dev blogs went into trims. We list both.

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

The classic of the group, and the car SCS wrote the most about. Martin, a senior 3D designer on the vehicle team and a self-described fan of historic American cars, said he spent a long time studying and building it. When SCS revealed it in April, the focus was on period accuracy: factory-inspired paints such as Lime Gold, Acapulco Blue, Dark Moss Green, Silver Frost, Burgundy and Candy Apple Red, and interior trims in Black, Red, Saddle, Parchment, Ivy Gold and Dark and Light Aqua. Seats come as luxury buckets or ComfortWeave inserts, all in a Deluxe interior with brushed aluminium accents.

Reference material came from a classic Mustang Ford helped source in the USA and from Toman Motors, while the engine sounds were recorded at Veteráni na Truc in Czechia. See it moving in the Carson City to Yosemite gameplay preview.

2023 Ford F-150

The F-150 was the first Road Trip car shown in gameplay. SCS’s January profile named it the 2023 F-150 Lariat, with colours including Agate Black Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic and Atlas Blue Metallic. At that point the team was still deciding which engine configurations to include. Artist Lukáš built the whole model, inside and out, partly from 3D-scanned reference.

The gameplay preview started near Redding, California, and ended on a dirt road. In job terms, SCS has said a pickup can get different courier contracts from a sports car or a classic.

2023 Ford Bronco

The Bronco in the game is the 2023 Bronco Badlands, part of the sixth generation that returned in 2021 after a 25-year break. SCS’s Bronco post listed Azure Gray, Cactus Gray, Eruption Green, Pepper Red, Velocity Blue and Yellowstone among the paint options. Renju, who also worked on the RAM 1500, modelled it. During the visit to Ford in Dearborn, Ford’s Matt Leaver lent the team his own Bronco for reference.

Ford Crown Victoria

Steam lists the Crown Victoria as 1998–2012, but SCS’s own write-up is more specific: you drive the 2006+ base Crown Victoria, a civilian version of the Police Interceptor. It has a 4.6L SOHC V8 with 224 hp and 275 lb-ft, an electronic four-speed automatic with overdrive, rear-wheel drive, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and a 19-gallon tank. Outside it copies the Interceptor’s black grille, mirrors and steel wheels, and inside it has black synthetic leather seats in place of the police car’s cloth.

Sounds came from a community member’s ex-police P71 in Germany, shown in the walk-around video. SCS openly expects modders to turn it into taxis and police cars.

What about engines?

Apart from the Crown Victoria, SCS’s blogs did not publish engine specs. The only hints are from the April 2025 call for help, when SCS asked owners for sound recordings of a Mustang with the 390 Thunderbird Special V8, an F-150 with the 5.0 V8, an F-150 Raptor with the 3.5 V6 and a Bronco with the 2.7 V6. Those were recording targets, not a confirmed spec list, so check the in-game dealer for what you can actually configure.

What else the DLC unlocks

The cars are only part of it. Owning any Road Trip DLC switches on the Road Trip module, which SCS now calls Car Mode:

  • Car Dealer and My Cars: buy cars, compare them in a table, paint and configure them, and sell them. How buying works.
  • Quick Jobs and the Dispatch Market: courier deliveries of packages, documents and dealership vehicles, rated by customers and feeding a Courier Rating. Jobs explained.
  • Atlas and Tourist Boards: exploration goals across the map, with postcards for your dashboard. At launch they covered California plus the Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota DLCs. The 1.62 update, in open beta since October 20, adds boards in nine more states, an extra one in Washington and a Route 66 Cross-Border board.
  • Atlas in your truck: if you own the DLC, Atlas also works from behind the wheel of a truck.
  • Convoy: trucks and cars can share the road in multiplayer.

Our Car Mode guide covers all of this in detail.

Is it worth $7.99?

For four licensed cars and a new mode, $7.99 is a modest ask. Note that the map coverage of Atlas depends on which map DLCs you own, so a base-game player will see fewer Tourist Boards. If you only want trucks, Atlas alone is the reason to consider it.

Common questions

How much is the Road Trip: Ford DLC?

$7.99 on Steam at launch.

Do I need to buy the RAM & Dodge pack too?

No. Either pack unlocks Car Mode and Atlas. The RAM & Dodge DLC has no release date yet.

Do I need map DLCs for Atlas?

No, but they help. California, part of the base game, had Tourist Boards from day one. The other launch states and the boards added in 1.62 need the matching map expansions.

Does it work on Mac and Linux?

Yes. Steam lists Windows, macOS and Linux.
