ATS Road Trip: SCS Scans a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS in Texas
Apart from a cockpit screenshot when the RAM & Dodge Car Pack was revealed, the Viper has had little attention so far. The new SCS On The Road episode starts to change that. The team went to Denton, Texas, to document and scan a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS.
Scan first, then the owner
The car belongs to Dino, who let the SCS crew scan it and gather reference for the exterior and the interior. That data goes to the vehicle artists building the Viper for Road Trip. The rest of the video is an interview in which Dino talks about his car. SCS calls it an exceptionally preserved example, and in blue with white stripes it certainly looks the part.
It is the same approach SCS has used throughout the project: find a well-kept privately owned example and record it, as it did with the Crown Victoria in Germany and the 1969 Charger in Czechia.
Which Viper
SCS’s own wording has varied over time. The 2025 call for help asked for a 1996-2002 Viper with the 8.0 V10, and vehicle art leader George described his project as the Dodge Viper GTS when the team was introduced. This post scans a 1997 GTS. None of that pins down the exact model year or specification in the pack, and SCS has not confirmed those details yet.
The Viper joins the RAM 1500, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody and Dodge Charger in the pack, which still has no release date.
