ETS 2 Coaches: SCS Visits Scania in Södertälje for a Touring Walk-Around

SCS Software’s SCS On The Road series is back, and this episode is all about the coach we first saw properly in September. The team travelled to the Scania Demo Center in Södertälje, Sweden, to scan and record the Scania Touring for the upcoming Coaches DLC.

What they were there for

Trips like this are where the in-game vehicles really start. The team scanned the coach and recorded its sounds, covering both the exterior and interior design and the smaller noises that make a modern coach sound like one. For a vehicle you will spend hours inside, that sound work is arguably as important as the model.

SCS also thanks Scania for hosting the visit and giving the team the access it needed in Södertälje, which is Scania’s home town and headquarters.

Worth watching

The video is short and does not show gameplay, but it is a good look at how much reference material goes into a single vehicle. If you are curious why SCS vehicles take as long as they do, this is a big part of the answer.
