ETS 2 – 1.53 Update – Germany Rework – Berlin looks amazing!

With the 1.53 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2, the capital of Germany, Berlin, is getting a complete overhaul. The screenshots shared by SCS Software showcase a completely redesigned Berlin, looking as detailed as a DLC-quality city.

Previously, as part of the Germany rework project, it was announced that Munich, Dresden, Leipzig, and Mannheim would also be revamped. With the 1.53 update, all these cities, including the capital, will be renewed. The update seems likely to be released before the end of the year.

As Germany’s capital and largest city by both area and population, Berlin has become one of the biggest rework projects undertaken by the SCS team. Known for its iconic landmarks, vibrant cultural scene, and rich history, Berlin attracts more tourists than any other city in Germany.

Players making deliveries to this reconstructed city will have the opportunity to drive past famous landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Blauer Obelisk, the Victory Column Monument, and Museum Island. You’ll also see St. Mary’s Church, the Fernsehturm (Berlin TV Tower), and Alexanderplatz along the way.

Additionally, the ring road surrounding Berlin has been revamped and expanded. It is now 14 kilometers long in the game. Two major interchanges in the city have been completely rebuilt to better reflect real-life accuracy. A brand-new interchange has also been added, leading to a car factory similar to the one in real life.

For the industries represented in Berlin, they have been split into two distinct areas. In the northern part of the capital, you’ll find a chemical plant, oil depot, and container yard, which are part of the historical buildings connected to the port.

In the southern part of the city, you will pass by the Internationales Congress Centrum and the newly rebuilt Messe Berlin (Trade Fair Grounds). Here, you will also find your purchasable garage and quiet residential neighborhoods along the river.

According to SCS Software, Berlin is the final German city to be renewed in the Germany rework project. After this, the team plans to update another country on the base map that has been left behind in terms of modernization.
