Free-roam driving and AI traffic coming to Assetto Corsa EVO?

Some details in the recently released Assetto Corsa EVO trailer didn’t go unnoticed. Highly requested features like free-roam driving and AI traffic can be seen in the scene at the 1:30 mark of the video. Assetto Corsa has long hosted open-world free driving maps through mods, which also allow for the addition of AI traffic. However, these beloved features may officially arrive with Assetto Corsa EVO, a possibility that is thrilling for racing fans.

With innovations on the modding side, larger and better-designed open-world maps could become one of the most popular features. The integration of an AI traffic system, distinct from the usual AI racing opponents, would offer a fantastic experience for simulation racing enthusiasts. We can only imagine what could be possible with mods!

KUNOS Simulazioni will start sharing more information in the coming weeks, and we eagerly await these updates.

Assetto Corsa EVO – System Requirements for PC

PC system requirements and VR support details for Assetto Corsa EVO have been revealed, featuring high-end specs for a fully immersive racing simulation experience.

The highly anticipated Assetto Corsa EVO is set to enter Early Access soon, and fans of the racing simulation genre are eager to get their hands on it. Developed by Kunos Simulazioni, the game promises an immersive experience for racing enthusiasts. Alongside the announcement of the early access, the developer has also revealed the PC system requirements to ensure smooth gameplay.

Assetto Corsa EVO early access version will be released on 16 January 2025.

To run Assetto Corsa EVO efficiently, you’ll need a minimum of 100 GB of storage space, which highlights the game’s detailed graphics and vast content. Notably, the developers have specified the need for an SSD, which ensures faster loading times and smoother gameplay compared to traditional hard drives.

The processing power required is quite substantial, with the minimum specs calling for an Intel i7 8700k or AMD 1500X, both high-performance CPUs. The recommended processor, Intel i5 10500 or AMD 2600X, indicates that a mid-to-high-end CPU will provide the best experience, ensuring smooth frame rates and responsive gameplay.

On the graphical front, the game demands at least a GTX 1070 or RX 580, both of which are still powerful GPUs, though not the latest models. However, for those looking for a fully optimized experience, the recommended RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5600 will allow players to push graphical settings higher, especially if they plan to race in VR.

Lastly, the memory requirement of 16 GB RAM is standard for modern gaming, allowing the game to handle multiple tasks smoothly, from rendering detailed environments to managing AI and physics calculations in real-time.

With its demanding hardware requirements, Assetto Corsa EVO is clearly built to deliver cutting-edge visuals and realistic simulation. Whether you’re racing with VR support through SteamVR, Oculus VR, or OpenXR, or simply enjoying it on a regular display, you’ll need a robust setup to fully immerse yourself in the action.

Stay tuned for more updates on Assetto Corsa EVO as we get closer to its Early Access release!
