The first blog post has been published for the Nordic forests featured in the Nordic Horizons DLC for ETS 2. Since the Nordic forests of Norway, Sweden, and Finland are some of Europe’s most beautiful and ecologically rich areas, the SCS Software team is sharing various new screenshots.

The northern regions of Finland, Sweden, and Norway share similar forest biomes. However, as we journey from south to north in these regions, we’ll notice some differences in how these forests have grown. In the northernmost parts of the region, the forests are characterized by sparse and open landscapes. Cold temperatures and a short growing season limit tree size and density, resulting in trees that grow more slowly and often live for many years. Together, these forests represent a beautiful tapestry of nature, showcasing the resilience and diversity of the boreal biome, from the majesty of the northern taiga to the vibrant woodlands in the south. These forests are vital for local wildlife and biodiversity, and they also provide a source of life and livelihood for those living in these remote parts of the world.

In the south, you can find denser and taller forests that benefit from milder temperatures and a longer growing season. The variety of tree species in these areas results in vibrant, green, and lush forests.

While the upcoming Nordic Scandinavia map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2 may not yet have revealed highly exciting images, all focus will shift here after the Greece DLC. You can add the Nordic Horizons DLC, which we expect to release by the end of 2025, to your wishlist.

The Wanda team has released screenshots of the Europe map they are currently developing for Truckers of Europe 3. Details were welcomed in the images with real and in-game comparisons.

Unlike the classic mobile game maps, Truckers of Europe 3 pays great attention to map design and details. The map design, based on Google Earth and Street View images, pays attention to the realism of the structures and textures.

Bertan Baday from Wanda Software says:

“First of all, we should not forget that this game is a mobile game, but the overall scaling between cities on the map is kept within a certain scale range in Truckers of Europe 3, as in every game. There are 7 or 8 cities and 2 countries determined in Europe in the first place, and these are researches are done on Google Earth and Street View data by adhering to 1:1 scale.While creating highways, surrounding objects and terrains are divided into modules and drawn from scratch on 3DS Max based on a certain distance.These modules are prepared at 1:1 scale and the distance between modules is also measured to scale. The map is continued step by step by adjusting it accordingly. As much as possible, attention is paid to the realism, textures, sizes and locations of the buildings. While creating assets, skins are extracted from the real images of the buildings or textures close to it and integrated into Unity. Usually, the workflow is this way and it is completely a map. It takes a lot of time to consider. Modders with a long history can predict how long such events will last.”

New screenshots of heavy transport for Truckers of Europe 3 developed by Wanda Software have been shared. The developers are currently working on the game’s map. It is expected to be released for iOS and Android devices later this year.

Here is a quick update about the development!

The new minivan is about 90% complete. The team has been working on improving the map, starting with the map extension, new traffic signs, new European style traffic lights, a new mission, and so on.

But the work-in-progress graphics optimization caused a big delay in updates. This required a major rewrite in the code and that caused lots of new bugs and instability. We’re hoping to see it completed next week and then we can release an update.

Development of the company management feature has started. It will take about 6 months of time to develop.

These are the current changelog for the next update. More might be added and we will make a separate announcement when update is ready. Not yet released, planning to release in a week:

• Separated Graphics Settings to allow better customization and optimization. (Shadow Quality, motion blur and etc.)
• New European style traffic signs.
• Improved wheel and rim models of most of the vehicles.
• When recovering your vehicle or restarting a mission now the game disables collisions temporarily to avoid collisions in multiplayer.
• User Interface (UI) mirror setting is now persistent.
• Added interior seat position option for Up-Down. (Was only forward-back)
• Added Frame Rate Limit (Max FPS) to graphics options.
• Recreated the vehicle images in the UI.
• Added physically responsive axle models to some vehicles.
• Increased fuel consumption of vehicles.
• Disabled audio in the pause menu.
• Improvements and bug fixes to manual gear shifting and H-Shifter support.
• Many fixes with the map. Reduced bumpiness and improved the curve on some roads.
• User interface improvements.

This isn’t the big update that includes a new minivan, rain and more. That big update is planned to be released in 3 weeks we will announce it closer to release. It will also be released on Nintendo Switch at the same time.
