Kalamata 

Situated on the sun-soaked Peloponnese and famous worldwide for its olives, Kalamata offers visitors a perfect blend of history, stunning coastal scenery, landmarks and vibrant local culture. With its lively waterfront and charming old town, truckers will have a hard time leaving! We hope you agree with us when we say our team has beautifully recreated this area, including its narrow streets and architecture.

Kalamata is also home to a variety of industries, including the marina, olive farms, and the supermarket, offering plenty of delivery destinations and job contracts for truckers. Drivers can also take advantage of the ferry connection to travel onward to Crete, one of the largest and most populous Greek islands.

Kavala

Founded in the seventh century BC, Kavala was chosen by settlers for its strategic coastal position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Today, Kavala remains an important economic centre of Northern Greece. Among other industries, you’ll find ones unique to the area, including a Marble processing plant, which Kavala is famous for producing.

While Kavala may not be the largest city, it is certainly picturesque! Built on a hillside, the city’s most prominent feature is the Kavala Fortress, also known as the Acropolis of Kavala, which overlooks the city and harbour and has been beautifully recreated in this DLC. Drivers can also take a ferry from here to several islands in the northern Aegean Sea!

Mytilene

As one of Greece’s oldest cities, dating back to ancient times, Mytilene is rich in history, from its scenic coastline to its unique architecture and historical landmarks such as the Fortress of Mytilene. As one the largest castles in the Mediterranean, this incredible landmark covers an area of 60 acres!

Argostoli

Located in the Ionian Sea, Argostoli is the capital of Kefalonia Island. Whilst it is not the biggest city, with just a population of 10,000 residents, it is rich in beauty and history! On this island, you’ll find a variety of industries, as well as landmarks like the De Bosset Bridge, which is the largest stone bridge in seawater and has existed since 1813.

On the Island of Kefalonia, you’ll also find the town of Lixouri, which has become an increasingly popular spot for visitors who are looking to get away from the more popular destinations.

Chios

This is a city you might already be familiar with! As featured in our recent Greece – Gameplay Preview video on our official YouTube channel, Chios offers a charming blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Drivers can cruise along its picturesque seafront and navigate the city’s narrow streets, taking in the stunning views that draw so many visitors.

You’ll find plenty of other natural gems, as well as industries to deliver to and from on the island! We encourage you to explore it all and discover what’s around the corner!

Rhodes

Arguably one of the top tourist destinations in Europe, Rhodes is home to ancient and medieval sites, including The Medieval Old Town, which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whilst trucks are certainly not allowed near the old town, you will certainly see it from a distance! Drivers can also enjoy views of the Zefyros Beach on their travels.

On the Island, you’ll also come across other towns and settlements, including Faliraki, known for its long sandy beach and lively nightlife. Be sure to check it out as you explore Rhodes!

Heraklion and Chania

Located on the westernmost side of Crete, Chania is known for its blend of Venetian, Ottoman, and Greek influences. Here, truckers can find historical landmarks, beautiful coastal views and a strong local economy! Due to its long history and rich culture, the region of Chania has maintained its traditional architecture, which is evident throughout the city. Truckers looking to visit this city can arrive via Ferry through the Port of Souda.

Drivers can also discover the capital city of Crete, Heraklion. As a major tourist destination in Greece, it is known for historical landmarks, museums and archaeological sites. Drivers travelling to Heraklion via Ferry will arrive at the Heraklion Port Passenger Station, which has been recreated in detail. Truckers looking for work in the area can also find several depots to deliver to and from.

SCS Software has released the first preview gameplay video for the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Greece DLC. With the open beta for update 1.53, border crossings and the necessary sectors for compatibility with the map were added. While the official release date has not been announced, everyone is hoping the Greece DLC will be released by mid-December.

The video starts near the Corinth Canal in Greece, crossing the Isthmus Bridge and heading toward Athens. The route follows the highway, turning towards the city of Piraeus. The city of Athens is discovered around the Thiva and Elefsina turn-offs, and while following the Elefsina road, it descends into the port area of Piraeus. As it approaches, we see many settlements, industrial facilities, and other developments. The truck then boards a newly added ferry, which has a newly designed 3D model. It arrives at the port on the island of Chios and heads towards Hotel Artemia. The roads leading to the hotel are impressive, and from its location, Turkey’s Çeşme Peninsula is visible.

Let’s also mention the map since it appears during the video. Active cities have been added to the islands near Turkey’s border, including Lesbos, Chios, Rhodes, Crete, and, in the upper left, Kefalonia. Corfu hasn’t been included, as it’s quite a small place, but it can still be seen from the mainland.

Euro Truck Simulator 2‘s Greece DLC has introduced the city of Mytilene, located on the island of Lesvos, through a blog post. Situated directly across from Ayvalik and in close proximity, Mytilene is one of Greece’s oldest cities, dating back to ancient times. Its architecture reflects its rich history, featuring a blend of neoclassical buildings, Byzantine churches, and Ottoman-era mansions, all lined along the coastal area.

The SCS team has stated that they’ve recreated the narrow roads along the coast of Mytilene, featuring restaurants, bars, hotels, and the city center with high accuracy. Players will also be able to see some famous landmarks, including the Rouselleio Municipal Theatre and the Church of Saint Therapon. In addition to deliveries within the city, players will find industries outside the city as well, offering a range of jobs from small local businesses to large commercial enterprises. Salt production facilities are likely to be included, as the island produces 50,000 tons of olive oil annually from its 13 million olive trees, along with significant fishing activity. Mytilene is also known for producing ouzo and liqueurs, and the Moria Refugee Camp is located on the island.

Lesvos, Greece’s third-largest island, is located just 9 km from the Turkish coast. The real island has a surface area of 1,631 km², and in the 1:19 scale virtual version, it seems that enough roads have been added for players to fully explore the island.

In 1462, the island of Lesvos was incorporated into the Ottoman Empire by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. In 1467, the famous Ottoman admiral Barbarossa Hayreddin Pasha was born on this island. It is also the homeland of renowned ancient Greek poets Alcaeus and Sappho. The name of the island, “Lesvos,” is linked to the female poet Sappho, who was from Lesvos, and from the 1800s onwards, the term “lesbian,” meaning “from Lesvos,” began to be used to describe female homosexuality in reference to her.
