As development progresses on the highly anticipated Greece DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, the team at SCS Software continues to showcase more of the detailed border crossings included in the expansion. These crossings have been carefully recreated to reflect their real-world counterparts, ensuring an authentic experience for players traveling between countries.

In this latest update, the spotlight is on three key border crossings:

• The Ipsala-Kipi crossing, which connects Turkey and Greece.
• The Bogorodica-Evzoni crossing between Greece and North Macedonia.
• The Kulata-Promachonas crossing, linking Bulgaria and Greece.

The blog post includes exclusive screenshots that highlight the level of detail put into each of these border points, giving players a preview of what to expect when they hit the road in this exciting new expansion.

Ipsala – Kipoi

The border crossing in İpsala is a major commercial crossing between Greece and Türkiye, and is the largest border crossing area found in the Greece DLC. In real life, this border handles an average 400 trucks a day, featuring its own dedicated road lanes splitting the traffic in half between trucks, cars & buses for the entire length of the crossing.

Whilst we don’t want to make our players wait for long periods of time in traffic crossing between countries, our team has accurately recreated the crossing area, including the road network and structures built there to handle the busiest crossing points between these two countries.

Bogorodica – Evzoni

Located on the E75 Route, the Bogorodica – Evzoni border crossing connects Greece with North Macedonia. This border crossing contains the largest number of road lanes for vehicles to pass through in our Greece DLC!

Outside the main border gate on the Greek side, you can find a special lane for trucks, which helps with the flow of traffic. If you are on a Special Transport route, this will also be the dedicated Border Control crossing to pass through!

Kulata – Promachonas

Regarded as one of the key entry points between the two countries of Bulgaria and Greece, this Border Control crossing is a popular route for tourists and commercial traffic alike. Travellers passing through will go over a bridge that takes drivers over the Pirinska Bistritsa river. This crossing (like all those shown in this blog) have been custom-made to perfectly resemble its real-life counterpart.

The Greece DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 will feature a total of six different border crossings. In the first reveal, the SCS Software team has introduced the Kakavia, Níki – Medzhitlija, and Makaza – Nimphaia border crossings. We’re hopeful that this exciting DLC will be released before the end of 2024.

Kakavia

Kakavia is a major border crossing between Greece and Albania, meticulously modeled in our game to accurately reflect its real-world counterpart. Numerous smaller details are scattered throughout the area, capturing the true essence of the location, such as the customs regulations building situated in the middle of the crossings.

Níki – Medzhitlija

Located on the E65 Route, the Níki-Medzhitlija border crossing connects Greece with North Macedonia. This crossing has also been custom-made to perfectly resemble its real-life counterpart, as you can see in the screenshots. Historically, it was the southernmost border of Yugoslavia.

Makaza – Nimphaia

Makaza-Nimphaia is a border crossing between Greece and Bulgaria. This mountain pass stands out as one of the smallest border crossings in the game measuring only over 100 metres in length. The border and its surroundings are custom-made as well.
